Celebrating more than 50 years of Library Friendship!
In 2016, the St. Cloud Friends of the Library celebrated its 50th year helping to support the library system. At its inception in June 1966, the St. Cloud Friends goal was to “revive the library bond issue and perhaps work toward a Tri-County city library. Keeping in mind the need of a new library ever present in the public thinking and constantly remind people of the need for more and better facilities.” Fifty years later, the St. Cloud Friends of the Library continues that vision by serving the community as library advocates and promoting literacy through library usage and affordable book ownership by operating the Friends Bookstore in St. Cloud Minnesota. About Your Friends Membership Your Friends membership provides additional funds, year-round, for programs, collections and other needs to ensure the best equipment and resources for our libraries. All members receive the Friends newsletters, delivered via email or mail, which keep you updated on Friends’ activities, Library programs, and other happenings. Your membership year runs January 1 – December 31, 2017 and as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization your membership and any donations to the Friends of the Library may be tax-deductible. |
