About Us
The St. Cloud Friends of the Library (SCFOL) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization formed in May 1966. It currently operates the Friends Bookstore located at the Great River Regional Library in St. Cloud, Minnesota. SCFOL is governed by an elected Board of Directors.
The Friends Bookstore is staffed by a team of more than 70 volunteers. It is managed by the Bookstore Committee and governed by the Board of Directors. The merchandise sold in the bookstore is provided through items discarded from the Library’s collections and from patron donations. Bookstore sales, plus funds raised through membership dues and other special events, are used to support the programs and collections of the St. Cloud Public Library and the Great River Regional Library system.

what we do
SCFOL raises funds through a number of activities to support the St. Cloud Public Library and the Great River Regional Library System:
- Operate a used bookstore located at the Great River Regional Library in St. Cloud, MN.
- Raise funds through bookstore operations and other fundraising activities to provide grants to the Saint Cloud Public Library. The funds granted are used to support library programs (e.g., Reading program prizes) and help expand the library's collections, purchase facility equipment, etc.
- Conduct an annual membership and fundraising campaign.
- Sponsor special events such Bag Sales.
- Other opportunities as they arise.
