Volunteer
We rely on volunteers to help keep our organization vital and strong.
Open six days a week, our bookstore is staffed by more than sixty-five
volunteers. Membership dues, donations and profits from the St.Cloud
Friends Bookstore are dedicated to sponsoring reading programs,
purchasing new materials for the library collection, and providing
resources for updates to the St. Cloud Public Library building.
Through our volunteers' hard work, the collections of the St. Cloud
Public Library, and therefore the Great River Regional Library System,
continue to grow and funding is provided for events such as the Summer
and Winter reading programs. In addition, Friends volunteers provide
support for the Brat Sale, Barnes and Noble Book Fair as well as St.
Cloud Public Library events throughout the year.
Volunteers are asked to commit to serve for one year minimum.
Volunteers work two-hour shifts every other week. Saturday volunteers
work 3 hour shifts. Volunteers can also be put on the substitute list,
which means working when called if available.
Orientation and training sessions are held with an experience volunteer.
Following the orientation session, new volunteers are expected to work
one or two shifts with an experienced volunteer.
How might you help as a volunteer? Check out current opportunities below or email us at stcloudfriends@gmail.com.
